Yeovil Town Women – MK Dons Women.

With myself at a loose end I was lucky enough to do my first commentary on the MK Dons Women’s side as they made the long trip to Dorset to take on Yeovil Town who groundshare with Southern League side Dorchester Town. Although Yeovil’s men’s home match was waterlogged the day before, this match was fine as it was played on the 4g surface at The Clayson Stadium.
The home side took the lead on 11 minutes, with Dons defender Laura Bright unfortunately seeing her header divert Sarah Wiltshire’s cross into her own net.

The match went cagey as Wiltshire was given a straight red on 29 minutes after an altercation on Vicky Neal.

Amy Gooderham went close for the visitors and their best chance saw Jess Driscoll’s chip evade the defence and keeper, only to rebound off the inside of the post and bounce out across the face of goal. Yeovil doubled their lead on 60 minutes when Meesha Dudley-Jones unleashed a thunderbolt from the left that cured in over keeper Emma Kirby. The visitors still had time to scramble a late consolation just before time but ultimately left for home without the points.

After the match I caught up with MK Dons Manager Charlie Bill to get his thoughts on the match.

I would like to express my thanks to both host ground Dorchester Town and Yeovil Town Women for their help with the broadcast.
