Maidstone United vs Kings Langley 19/10/19

Saturday saw a new ground to visit as we took in the Emirates FA Cup 4th Qualifying Round tie between Maidstone United and Kings Langley.  Maidstone bidding to reach the first round proper for the sixth season in a row, whilst Kings Langley having the run of their dreams reaching this stage for the first time in their history.

Missing Lloyd Doyley through injury and Jorell Johsnon and Stevie Ward being cup-tied Langley had a strong first half and will still feel aggrieved after seeing Harry Crawford’s 23rd minute strike ruled out for offiside, which seemed to baffled a lot of people inside the Gallagher Stadium.

2 goals in a 4 minute spell barely 10 minutes after the re-start turned the game in favour of the hosts, who then notched up a third on 78 minutes through Dan Wishart’s superb free kick.  A fourth was added on the stroke of full time when Edwards converted from the penalty spot after he had been clipped.  But the ast say on the day was from Kings Langley as skipper Roddy Collins struck from 12 yards after Mitchell Weiss had been impeded by Jake Cole in the box.

What a day, and about 150 Kings Langley fans made themselves seen and most definitely heard.  I would also like to express my thanks to both Maidstone United and Kings Langley for their help in making this broadcast happen, and for the welcome and support I recived on the day from Maidstone.
