AFC Hayes vs Jersey Bulls

Saturday saw us commentate on the Jersey Bulls as they travelled to the mainland to take on AFC Hayes at Farm Park.  With Jersey naming six players making their first appearances in the squad, and with a makeshift back four, the match always had the potential of being a tighter affair than the recent results.

However the hosts survived an early penalty shot when Kieran Lester went down in the box, whilst goals from Daryll Wilson and Ruben Mendes gave Gary Freemans side breathing space at the break. AFC Hayes though battled hard and their performances belied their 14th place in the Combined Counties League Division 1.

A goal two minutes from time scored by Trey Pender-Brown ensured a nervy finish but the Bulls held on to maintain their 100% unbeaten record for their ninth straight win and extend their lead at the top.

I would like to express my thanks to Russell for getting me the Jersey Bulls team info, and to thank everyone at AFC Hayes for their welcome given to me and help issued to in getting rigged up to make the broadcast a success.
